About the Artist
I am a native of the San Francisco Bay Area living in Benicia, California with my wonderful husband, John, who is a transplant from Cortland, New York. Although I graduated with a degree in art from San Jose State University many years ago, I was never involved in producing art once I left college.
However, four years ago, after many years as a school principal, teacher, and education consultant I decided to pick up my paint brush and paint palette and begin creating using watercolors and acrylics.
I realized very quickly how much I enjoyed painting buildings and signs and about two years ago I completed the "Suisun Valley Series" depicting landmarks from an area I love - the Suisun Valley where I grew up.
These days I am branching out in terms of locations! I have recently completed paintings of landmarks in both San Francisco - North Beach Neighborhood Series - and in Truckee with my new and still in progress Truckee-Tahoe Series. More to come!
