About Gomer School
Gomer School holds so many memories for the children and teachers who had the wonderful opportunity to attend this one-room school house in Suisun Valley. Although I never attended Gomer School I did have the opportunity to work as a substitute teacher there in the early 1970's and last October I had the honor of publishing and distributing Gomer School as a limited edition commemorative art print honoring the Alumni of Gomer School and the Gomer School Historical Association of Suisun Valley.
Side note: The normally tranquil and gloriously scenic road in front of Gomer School was one of several locations in the valley used by the boys (of course) for their "grudge match" car races. Legend has it that one moonlight Friday night in 1964 a '57 corvette - the owner who will remain nameless - reached speeds of 130 miles an hour along the strip between Gomer School and what is now Ledgewood Creek Winery.
