Suisun Valley Series
I moved from Napa, California to Suisun Valley, with my parents and younger brother in 1960. My dad built our home in Willotta Oaks, which at the time was a dead-end street carved out of peach and cherry orchards. I affectionately remember the carefree days playing with my friends in these orchards around and behind my house and wading in the always muddy waters of Suisun Creek with what seemed like a million "sucker fish" swimming around us and through our legs. Growing up in the Suisun Valley was very special.
Iwama Market - SOLD
Nostalgia set in a couple of years ago and with it came the urge to drive out to the old neighborhood of Willotta Oaks and Iwama Market. I told my husband, "I need to take some pictures of that old market before it either falls down or someone decides to take it down." I decided to paint Iwama Market. As I put paint to paper memories came flooding back and I knew I wanted to pursue a longer walk down memory lane in the Suisun Valley. There were many other buildings and signs I wanted to paint.

Each of my paintings has a story or a personal "historical" notation. Some are a result of summertime bike rides around the Suisun Valley "loop" and other stories have been gathered from old friends and longtime Valley families who love the Suisun Valley as much as I do. I continue to add more and more paintings on a regular basis - there are so many more stories to tell!
