Wineries, Pubs, and Saloons (In Progress)
How The Series Started
Some might say that this series, Wineries, Pubs, and Saloons started when I painted Wooden Valley Winery, Vezer Winery, Blue Victorian Winery, Ledgewood Creek Winery and Thompson's Corner Saloon - all paintings in my Suisun Valley Series.
However, this series - Wineries, Pubs, and Saloons really began with the painting "Wente Winery" the location of our son and daughter-in-law's wedding. I realized that I needed to devote a series to this theme when not only my son asked me to paint Wente Winery, but my niece, Kari, asked me to paint a Finger Lakes winery, and my cousin, Sue, in England said I need to paints some English Pubs. It became a "done-deal" when Larry Bracht suggested I paint the Iron Door Saloon (an old hangout of my husband and his buddies in their younger days) near Yosemite.
It's going to take me a while - but I'm committed to painting this series. And the series is in progress with "Wente Winery" shown below.

Our son, Jamie, and our daughter-in-law, Brooke, were married at beautiful Wente Winery in the Livermore Valley on December 3, 2005. Actually it was their second "wedding" in two days.
They decided to do the European thing - get married in a very small family ceremony on December 1st (which was 10 years after they first professed their love for each other) and then have a lavish white wedding ceremony and reception with about 120 family and friends at Wente Winery two days later.
It was absolutely beautiful!
