About Valley View Packing Company
There were six of us, the "Band of Six" as my dad called us, who regularly peddled our way around the Suisun Valley "loop." Katy, Cheryl, Susan, Julie, Maureen, and me - all about 11 years old - would always start our bike rides at Iwama Market but the destination was the little white bridge at the base of Twin Sisters for a day of picnicking, wading in the creek, and catching tadpoles. Valley View Packing Company at the corner of Rockville Road and Abernathy Lane was the first "benchmark" rest stop for the Band of Six. It was a marker indicating that we needed to turn left on our journey to Mankas Corner and then on to the Twin Sister's Bridge.
